The Climate Cup is hosted with an aim to highlight a very important issue of climate change and with all the challenges involved the tournament features four teams, namely, Delhi FC, Tibetian National Team, the first-ever professional Football Club from Ladakh, 1FC Ladakh, and the Ladakh Football Association State Team.
Playing at such a staggering altitude presents a unique set of challenges that can leave even the mightiest of teams gasping for breath. The thin air can sap the energy of players, making even the simplest footwork seem like a Herculean task.
Even teams like Argentina and Brazil have been seen to struggle against Bolivian teams in La Paz due to high altitudes and challenging conditions in Bolivia managing to get the better of the majority of their opponents, while they rarely manage to bag a win away from home.
However, Delhi FC proved that passion and perseverance can conquer all.
